International Café

What is International Café?

International café is a place where people of all nations can come and make new friends.

It is a place where you will be welcome, wherever you are from, and place to enjoy food and have fun together.

It is a place where you can improve your English through conversations with native speakers.

It is also a place where we can talk about faith – and in particular help everyone understand who Jesus is, and what is the good news that he brings for all.

Why do you do International Café?

International Café is run at Parr Street Church by members of Parr Street Church. As a church we seek to live by what Jesus taught. He wanted his follows to welcome and care for foreigners, and also to share the good news of Jesus with people of all nations.

What happens at International Café?

There are three main parts at each International Café:

1. Food
2. Faith
3. Fun

And hopefully within each part we grow in friendship as we talk together.

1. Some months the food will be enjoying a slice of cake with a hot drink as we chat together. In other months we enjoy a full meal together.
2. Every month there will be 20-30 minutes thinking about faith. Often this will include watching and discussing a Bible story, and listening to someone share their story of faith.
3. Every time we try to include something that we can enjoy doing together. In the past we have played games, learnt new dances, or tried new crafts.

When is the next International Café?

We meet on the 2nd Saturday of each month, at 4:00pm.

14 November 2026 – Cake and Craft
12 December 2026 – British Meal
9 January 2027 – Cake and Dancing
13 February 2027 – Ukrainian Meal
13 March 2027 – Cake and Easter Craft
10 April 2027 – African Meal
8 May 2027 – Cake and Craft
12 June 2027 – Asian Meal
10 July 2027 – Cake and Games
– No meeting in August –

• What does it cost? • It is free.
• What can I bring? • You don’t need to bring anything.
• Are children welcome? • Yes, as long as at least one parent also attends.
• Do I need to register? • No, but it does help if you let us know you are coming.
• Does it matter that I am not a Christian? • No, we welcome people of any faith and those who are secular.
• I am British, can I come? • Yes, if you are already a regular attender of Parr Street Church. Otherwise, you are probably better attending one of the other events run by Parr Street.
